Most patients can go back to work in 1 week.
Pain medication is necessary the first 72 hours.
No exercise is recommended for the first three weeks after surgery.
Sexual intercourse is not advisable for 2 months after surgery, as the scarring process is still in progress during this period.
General anaesthesia is used, and the patient may go home 2 to 3 hours after surgery. Sutures are absorbable.
The patient should be on a light diet for the first 24 hours.
During the first 7 days they may notice light spotting and should use pads to clean (not tampax).
She should have modified rest the first 24 hours, meaning that she should relax and not do anything strenuous.
